SupaProof — Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 2025
Version: MVP 1.1
1. Overview
SupaProof is a public platform for time-locked proofs.
This Privacy Policy explains what information SupaProof collects, how it is used, and the implications of using a public, permanence-oriented system.
SupaProof is intentionally minimal and does not require user accounts.
2. Information We Collect
Public Content
When you create a Capsule, we store:
- Title
- Optional author name
- Optional description
- Message content (revealed at unlock)
- Unlock date and creation timestamp
All capsule content is public by design.
Comments
When commenting on unlocked capsules, we store:
- Display name
- Comment text
Comments are public and intended to be permanent.
IP Addresses (Rate Limiting Only)
We temporarily process IP addresses solely for:
- Rate limiting
- Abuse and spam prevention
IP address data:
- Is not used for analytics or advertising
- Is not linked to long-term user profiles
- Is automatically deleted within approximately 24 hours
Engagement Metadata
We collect non-identifying engagement data such as:
- Watch counts
- Comment counts
These metrics are displayed publicly and used for discovery features.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Operate and maintain the Service
- Display public capsules and comments
- Enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
- Calculate labels, rankings, and featured capsules
SupaProof does not sell user data and does not run advertising.
4. Public and Permanence-Oriented Nature of Content
Important:
All content submitted to SupaProof is public and intended to be permanent within the Service.
Once created:
- Capsules are not editable
- Comments are not editable
- Unlocked content is intended to remain publicly accessible
Do not submit personal, sensitive, confidential, or legally protected information.
SupaProof may remove or restrict access to content where required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental or court order.
5. Data Storage and Security
SupaProof uses third-party infrastructure providers, including:
- Supabase (database and backend)
- Vercel (hosting and deployment)
We apply reasonable safeguards appropriate for a public platform; however:
- No system is perfectly secure
- SupaProof is not designed for confidential storage
- Public content should be assumed persistently accessible
6. User Rights and Limitations
SupaProof does not maintain user accounts or profiles.
Due to the platform's design:
- Content removal or correction is not supported as a general feature
- Identity-based data access or deletion requests may not be fulfillable
- Users are responsible for the information they submit
Nothing in this section limits SupaProof's ability or obligation to comply with applicable law.
7. Children's Privacy
SupaProof is not intended for users under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
The "Last Updated" date reflects the current version.
9. Contact
If you do not understand or agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Service.
Final note
SupaProof is a public commitment system, not a private communication tool.
If permanence is unacceptable, SupaProof is not the right platform.
